Meet the Super Cow

These cows are not the products of steroids - supposedly - but rather a product of “natural” (genetic) selection. By selecting the “best of the bunch” of cows and mating them, the more desirable traits appear consistently and the undesirable traits fade away.

Seeing these cows makes me sick in the stomach - even though the “scientists” are reassuring they taste like the other regular cows. I’m not so sure - but I certainly believe that in a few years your McDonald’s patties will come from these cows.

I wonder what they’d do to chicken…

Actually, these are all lean cuts, so McDonalds is never going to have them. Unless it turns to a Steak house!

This human-induced natural selection has been in place for thousands of years. The Ancient Egyptians did it with plants and animals.
The results are not as bad as say, adding hormones and antibiotics in the cows diet. Those cause so much damage and are passed to the humans.

Anyway… :)

Hey man, sorry for the off-topic comment, but I’ve noticed you’ve written a review for Crisis Core on GameSpot– it’s great! Question is, where did you manage to score a copy of this game in Dubai? I’ve been trying with both brances of GeeKay these past several days and they haven’t got the slightest clue what I’m talking about. You’ll be doing this huge fellow FFVII fan a great service by giving me hints on where I could get this hopefully-glorious game :) !

KJ: I’ll try to change your mind
Evolution and natural selection will keep managing the natural course of nature. Evolution brought new species, like cows from Dinosaur or such!, however the video is showing the improvement of a specie to satisfy another specie. If we believe in natural selection, which mean we do not chose but rather nature select the species which can prove it is favored, because it is better, so, we may think that those cows with big muscles are making us choose them because they are better.
So, it may looks not to our taste, but hey would you eat locusts, no way if you are Syrian, but what about Saudis.
)

The female hormones injected into cattle is though to have had a worldwide effect on fertility rates which are decreasing. If they continue decreasing at the same rate, they will reach 0 in a few decades.

Oh well, I’m not that fond of kids anyway !

Qwaider -
LoooL.. yes true, I am not against it but you’d think that the cow would at least look better and more stomach friendly!

Maioush -
Hhahaa.. veggies all the way!

I got it on pre-order that’s why I got it early. If you’ve been to Sharjah, go to the Central Souk at the end of Buheira. There are a lot of videogame stores there and I am sure they most definitely have it.

Saint -
It isn’t about changing my mind - I am all for natural selection! But the cow looks hideous! That was my point! It looks like it is on steroids!

Hani -
You’re joking right?! I am not for beef but I love chicken and fish… But chicken probably get more hormones! Oh crap!

I never thought I’d live to see the day cow bodybuilders existed..

starwish mumbled on March 30th, 2008 at 8:51 pm

Genetically modified food is increasingly becoming a commonplace nowadays.

I think they’re already doing it to the chickens so that they can produce the “best eggs”.

You’re definitely right, except for the average human you can’t really see a physical difference in the egg… and it isn’t as disgusting

N -
LooL, sorry mate!

Ammaro -

Sam -
Definitely a no-no for me.. fat cows rule! But if this is really natural and the meat tastes normal and there are no diseases, why not… you’d get more meat per head count
